How we found new Business Central talent with the Microsoft Reskill program

We are strong at SOCITAS when it comes to training and further education. However, it can sometimes be a challenge to find new employees due to the shortage of skilled workers in the IT industry. The location of our headquarters in St. Katharinen, in a rural area, does not make the search for new talent any easier. That's why we got help and are happy to be a pilot partner of the Microsoft Reskill-Programms in Deutschland geworden zu sein.

Thanks to the Reskill program, we were able to add four new consultants and four developers to our team in 2024. The program, supported by our recruiting partner Revolent, helped us identify and develop talented professionals. It is specifically aimed at talented individuals who may not have direct experience with Business Central, but who do have in-depth industry knowledge.

Our learning model combines structured training and practical experience.

The new colleagues are preparing for the MB-800 certification one to two days a week, while working on projects the rest of the time. This mix not only allows them to learn the technical requirements, but also to apply their knowledge directly to our customers. It is particularly positive that the new team members were able to immediately add value to our customer projects through their previous professional backgrounds.

The right mix of theory, practice and soft skills

The Reskill program not only focuses on technical knowledge of Business Central, but also places a strong emphasis on developing soft skills. Especially in the consulting area, it is crucial to understand the needs of the customers and to respond to them in a targeted manner.

Thanks to the structured training, our new talents are well prepared for the challenges of projects. At the same time, they benefit from the opportunity to apply what they have learned directly and to deepen it in practice. With the Reskill program, we have not only found a solution to the shortage of IT specialists, but have also developed a sustainable strategy to expand our team in a targeted way. The combination of training, practice and industry expertise has proven to be the key to success.

We are proud that this initiative not only strengthens our team, but also enables us to continue to offer our customers quality and expertise in the consulting and implementation of Business Central.
